1 Thu
Some clouds and cold with a SW wind. We was cutting peas and oats today. W.W. Larrabee and wife went out this morning and got his hens.

2 Fri
Clear and cool with a SW wind. I was home all day. We was mowing our buckwheat and oats. Harden and wife went over to Green’s. Mod was sick today.

3 Sat
Clear and cold with a SW wind. There was a heavy frost this morning. R. Irvin called here today for taxes. Mr. E.J. Fulton’s wife from Minnesota here. (Louisa (Webster) Fulton, the wife of Ephraim Jones Fulton. Ephraim & Louisa moved to Brainerd, Minnesota in 1881)
4 Sun
Some clouds and very warm with an East wind. We was home all day excepting my wife went to Harden’s with Mrs. E.J. Fulton and took dinner. Fred Blackden and Mr. Tar here today for tea.
5 Mon
Some clouds and warm with a SE wind. We hauled in five loads of oats today in back of the barn. The first this season. I promised lambs today to Hersoms.
6 Tue
Warm with a SE rain in the forenoon. Cleared off and got very cold. Signs of a frost. Wife and Louisa was to Mahan’s.

7 Wed
Some clouds with a NW wind and quite cold. We finished mowing our peas and oats today. Elder Piper was here today, book agent.

8 Thu
Clear and cold with a NW wind. A very heavy frost this morning. Hurt the buckwheat some. I pulled 1/2 bushel of cucumbers this morning. Mrs. E.J. Fulton left here this morning for home.
9 Fri
Some clouds and warm with a NW wind. A slight frost. We mowed some oats and raked some buckwheat and hauled in three loads of peas and oats today. So ends the day.

10 Sat
Mostly clear and warm with a SW wind. We was mowing oats all day today and raking buckwheat.So ends the day.

11 Sun
Some clouds and warm with a SW wind. I was home the most of the day. Mrs. R. Bell was here with her girl to dinner. Myself and wife and Dorothy Bell to Harden’s to tea.

12 Mon
Clear and cool with a SE wind. Election for Governor today at the New Town Hall for the first. We hauled in two loads of oats from below the barn today.

13 Tue
Some clouds and warm with a SE wind. Me and Harden was to work for Jim today. Fred Blackden was thrashing his oats.

14 Wed Cloudy and very rainy looking this morning but we hauled in two loads of oats. It began to rain about noon. Still raining at bedtime. Mrs. Dell Nutter here today and Mrs. Ruth and J.P. Jones and son.

15 Thu
Cool with a SE rain all the previous night and till noon today. Mrs. Dell Nutter to tea. Will and Harden went to Knoxford today. Arvilla York and wife here.

16 Fri
Some clouds and cool with a SW wind. I went out to Blaine this morning. Took out 14 1/2 doz. of eggs. Sold them to Hussey at 17 cents per doz. $2.46. Stopped at Pierce’s, Luce’s, and stopped at R. Bell’s and got dinner.

17 Sat
Some clouds and cool with a West wind. We was raking and mowing buckwheat and oats and hauled in two loads of oats up Harden’s well. So ends the week and so ends the day.

18 Sun
Clear and warm with a SE wind. Myself and wife drove out to James W. Webster’s this morning to see Louisa before she started to Minnesota. Took dinner and tea.

19 Mon
Warm with a SE drizzly rain all day or nearly all day. I was home all day choring and putting up fence below the house to keep the cow and sheep in. Gathered some apples today.

20 Tue
Clear and warm with a NW wind. We was mowing and raking buckwheat in the forenoon. Fred and Frank Blackden here this afternoon thrashing.

21 Wed
Clear and warm with a SE wind. We was raking and hauling in buckwheat and oats and getting them thrashed. Three loads of buckwheat and one of oats.

22 Thu
Some clouds and warm with an East wind. John D. Lindsey and wife and daughter here today. Fred and Frank Blackden left here with their thrashing machine.

23 Fri
Some clouds and warm with a NW wind. We finished hauling in our oats today. Seventeen loads of oats. We had eleven loads of peas and oats.

25 Sun
Cloudy and warm with a SW wind. We was home all day. Appearance of rain all day. Samuel Fulton from Knoxford called.
26 Mon
Cloudy and warm with a SE wind. It commenced to rain some in the forenoon. Some very heavy rain in the afternoon.

27 Tue
Cloudy and rainy most all day with the wind from the NW. We moved our stoves today and gathered some of my apples. Jud Straight called today. So ends the day.

28 Wed
Some clouds and cool with a NW wind. I dug my new potatoes today. Old man Blackden called here to tea. Harden went to the Mill today. I gathered apples.

29 Thu
Some clouds and cold with a NW wind. We raked buckwheat in the forenoon. We commenced to dig potatoes today.
