July 1892

1 Fri Cloudy and warm with a SE wind. I was home all day. James Murray wife left here today. Eli Fletcher here today selling medicine.

2 Sat Some clouds and warm with a SW wind. I was home all day. We cultivated our two acres of potatoes today on the other side of the brook for the first. I hoed some in the garden.

3 Sun Warm with a heavy SE rain all day and still raining at bedtime. We was home all day. A long lonesome day. I spent my time in reading and praying, choring and hoping and trusting. So ends the day.

4 Mon Cold with a NW rain all the previous night and the forenoon today. I was home all day. It has cleared off tonight quite cool. More rain since Sunday till today noon than you would often see.

5 Tue Some clouds with a cool West wind. Myself and wife went down to Richard Bell’s this morning on a visit. Stayed on till five o’clock and came home.

6 Wed Clear and cool with a NW wind. J.W. Fulton and G.W. Fulton called here this afternoon. Me and Harden hoed an acre of potatoes in the afternoon.

7 Thu Clear and warm with a NW wind. We was hoeing our potatoes over the brook today and my beans in the garden. G.W. Fulton called tonight.

8 Fri Clear and warm with a SE wind. I was home all day to work at our potatoes. Some signs of rain at present. So ends the day.

9 Sat Some clouds and warm with a SW wind. Me and Harden went to the Mill this morning over to the river with some buckwheat to grind.

10 Sun Some clouds and warm with a SW wind. I called at Stephen Giberson’s. Fred Blackden and wife and children here today. Mrs. John P. Jones and son here to tea. Some other calls.

11 Mon Clear and warm with a NW wind. Me and Harden went to Blaine and took out his cow and calf. Saw J.H. Syphers. Called to R. Bell’s and got cultivator. Bees swarmed today.

12 Tue Clear and warm with a SW wind. W.W. Larrabee and wife was here today. We was hoeing our potatoes and weeding all day. The weather clear and fine.

13 Wed Cloudy and warm with a SE wind. Me and Harden was working till it came on rain in the afternoon.Ephraim Lawrence called here. G.W. Fulton called with a girl.

14 Thu Clear and warm with a NW wind. We was weeding our potatoes over the brook. Had Stephen Giberson and son helping us.

15 Fri Some clouds and warm with a SE wind. Myself and Harden was up to Stephen Giberson’s Barn Raising this forenoon. Weeding my garden in the afternoon.

16 Sat Cloudy and warm with a SE wind. Commenced to thunder and lightening and rain till noon and cleared up. Cloudy and dull all the afternoon.

17 Sun Some clouds and cool with a NW wind. We was home all day. Some fear of frost. R. Bell and wife and child here to tea this afternoon.

18 Mon Cloudy and cool with a NW wind. I was home all day. Me and Harden hoed the piece of potatoes up by his well this afternoon for the first time. Commenced to rain at four o’clock.

19 Tue Clear and warm with a SE wind. Clouded up and had thunder showers all the afternoon. Fell a good deal of rain and still rainy looking at bedtime. So ends the day.

20 Wed Some clouds and cold with a SW wind. Myself and wife went out this morning to Will Larrabee’s. Called at G.W. Fulton’s and at R. Bell’s home.

21 Thu Clear and warm with a NW wind. I finished hoeing my beans in my garden. Mr. Hallett called today enlarging pictures. Mrs. Will Kearney here.

22 Fri Some clouds and quite cold with a West wind. Some thunder and rain through the day. Me and Harden went out and got boards from Jones, 300 ft.

23 Sat Some clouds and warm with a SW wind. Between 12 o’clock and 1 o’clock there was heavy thunder and hail for a few minutes mixed with rain and hail big as a large pea.

24 Sun Cloudy and warm with a South wind. I was home all day. My wife went out to G.W. Fulton’s to see his wife. She was sick. John Bartley called this evening.

[GW Fulton’s wife, Margaret gave birth to Ethel Dean Fulton on  July 10th 1892. ]

25 Mon Some clouds and warm with a NW wind. We churned this morning. Done up all our chores and drove over to Fred Blackden’s and took dinner and tea. Called to Lindsey’s and home.

26 Tue Some clouds and warm with a NW wind. I mowed some in the forenoon. Horse hoed our potatoes in the afternoon. W.W. Larrabee here.

27 Wed Some clouds and warm with a NW wind. We finished hoeing our potatoes today for the last time. James Boone and young Cole from V.C. Tobique, Parish of Perth, V.C.,N.B., was here today.

28 Thu Clear and warm with a NW wind. We was putting the Paris Green on our potatoes today.W.W. Larrabee and wife and son was here today to dinner and tea.

29 Fri Cloudy and warm with a SE wind. I was home all day. John York came here this afternoon to set up and start our new mowing machine.

30 Sat Clear and warm with a NW wind. We put the remainder of our Paris Green on our potatoes and raked up my piece of grass. I drove to Blaine for more Paris Green.

31 Sun Some clouds and warm with a NE wind. We was home all day. I went up to James’ only. Mrs. William Wilson was here to dinner. Some signs of rain.
